Fixing a job that's stuck in 'En Route' status

3 min readUpdated March 2, 2026

Why this happens

A job usually gets stuck in “En Route” when a technician’s phone loses signal between leaving the previous job and arriving at the next one, so the automatic status update never sends.

Quick fix

From the dispatch board, open the job and manually set the correct status (“On Site” or “Completed”). This does not affect any GPS timestamps that already synced before the connection dropped.

If time tracking looks wrong

Open the job’s activity log to see exactly which timestamps came through. You can manually adjust arrival or departure time if the automatic one is clearly off — every manual edit is logged with who made the change.

Preventing it

Encourage crews to keep the SuperTradies app open (not force-closed) while driving between jobs — status updates send in the background as soon as signal returns, even if the app isn’t in the foreground.

Still stuck?

If a job won’t update even after a manual edit, contact support with the job ID — this is usually a one-off sync issue we can fix directly.
